Abstract
The current transformation of international transport corridors, the blocking of sea routes and the redirection of Ukraine’s logistics flows necessitate the development of efficient multimodal transport systems and integration into the European logistics space. The aim of article was to study the current trends in the development of Ukraine’s transport system, analyse the functioning of multimodal logistics schemes, and identify the prospects for their modernisation in the context of European integration and military challenges. This study involved the use of methods such as system analysis, comparative analysis, statistical evaluation, and the synthesis of scientific sources, analytical reports, and statistical data from international organisations. It has been established that after 2022, Ukraine’s transport system underwent a significant transformation linked to changes in the main directions of freight flows and the formation of new multimodal routes through European Union countries. The experience of European countries in optimising the interaction of different modes of transport and stimulating the environmentally safe railway segment has been examined. The analysis revealed the growing importance of dry ports, border logistics hubs and the Danube transport cluster in maintaining the continuity of international supply chains. It has been established that the integration of multimodal schemes with digital logistics management technologies, freight flow monitoring systems and route optimisation tools helps to enhance the resilience of the transport system, reduce logistics costs and minimise risks. It has also been shown that the development of multimodal infrastructure and the harmonisation of Ukraine’s transport system with TEN-T standards is a prerequisite for strengthening the country’s transit potential and its integration into the European economic area. The practical significance of the results obtained stems from the possibility of applying them in the formation of state transport policy, the modernisation of logistics infrastructure and the optimisation of multimodal transport in Ukraine
